Albany Bridge

Albany is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley just 44 miles north of Eugene, 69 miles south of Portland, and 24 miles south of Salem, Oregon's state capitol. Nestled between the Coast and the Cascade Mountains allows an easy drive to ocean beaches or snow covered slopes.

The city is noted for its vibrant industries, including rare metals, foods and grass seed. Albany also is nationally famous for its preservation of historic homes and neighborhoods. It is home to Linn-Benton Community College and is a short drive from Portland, Oregon's largest city.

Greater Albany Public Schools logoVolunteer

Greater Albany Public Schools appreciates the volunteer efforts that support our schools. The school district encourages parents and community volunteers to be in our schools for the primary purpose of enriching the education opportunities for students.

District policy requires all volunteers become familiarized with its volunteer policy. Policies include IICC and IICC-AR. For everyone's protection, GAPS requires all volunteers to complete a Criminal History Verification application prior to engaging in any volunteer activities.
