District Report Card
The Oregon Department of Education's 2025-26 At-A-Glance Profiles are out, and there is plenty to celebrate across Greater Albany Public Schools.
From improved attendance to gains in reading, mathematics, and ninth-grade on-track rates, students across GAPS showed growth in several key measures this year.
A few highlights:
- Attendance: GAPS' regular attender rate increased 5 percentage points to 70%, two points above the Oregon average. Twenty of 21 schools improved.
- Third Grade Reading: The percentage of third graders meeting grade-level expectations increased 3 points to 42%, matching the state average.
- Eighth Grade Math: GAPS increased 9 points to 38%, eight points above the state average. All GAPS middle schools improved.
- Ninth Grade On-Track: The district increased 5 points to 86%, matching the state average. Both South Albany and West Albany high schools improved.
- Graduation and Completion: GAPS' on-time graduation rate was 83%, matching the state average, while the district's five-year completion rate reached 92%, five points above the state average.
These results represent the work happening every day in classrooms throughout our district. They also reflect the commitment of our students, staff, and families to showing up, learning, and continuing to grow.
There is always more work ahead, but we're proud to celebrate the progress our students and schools are making.
