Budget Committee Information
Positions 1 and 2 terms will be appointed to serve from February 23, 2026, through June 30, 2028. There are no zone resident address requirements for budget committee positions.
Following policy DBEA – Budget Committee, the function of the Budget Committee is to approve budget estimates for an educational plan previously determined by the Board. The budget committee will determine levels of spending, but will not determine programs.
Following policy CEA – Educational Equity Advisory Committee, the Board designated Position 1 at the November 17, 2025 Regular Board Meeting to a committee member from the District Equity Committee.
The Budget Committee consists of the Board of Directors, district staff and five appointed members. Budget Committee members volunteer their time to attend budget committee meetings. Budget committee meetings will be held on May 20, June 3 and June 15 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the District Office.

Appointment Requirements
In order to qualify to be a GAPS Budget Committee Member, you must:
- Live in the district
- Not be an officer, agent, or employee of the district
- Be a registered voter
- Position 1 – Be a Member of the District Equity Committee
