Summer Meals

Greater Albany Public Schools is proud to offer free summer meals for children and teens ages 1-18 throughout the summer. Meals are available at locations across Albany and help ensure students continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session.

🦁 Albany Summer Passport: Albany Safari

Looking for a fun way to explore Albany this summer? The 15th Annual Albany Summer Passport Program is a free adventure for children ages 2–17 and their families!

This year's theme, "Albany Safari," encourages kids to visit participating local businesses and organizations, learn about endangered animals, collect passport stamps, and earn chances to win weekly and grand prizes. Passports are available at the Albany Visitors Association and Albany Regional Museum. Completed passports are due by August 7, with prize winners announced at the Carousel Carnival on August 15.

Community Events

Looking for family-friendly events this summer? Check out some of the many opportunities happening throughout Albany and the surrounding area.

  • River Rhythms(July and August) Albany's free summer concert series at Monteith Riverpark featuring live music throughout July and August.
  • Linn County Fair(July 16-18) Enjoy exhibits, entertainment, food, carnival rides, and family activities at the annual Linn County Fair.
  • National Night Out(August 4) Connect with local law enforcement, first responders, neighbors, and community organizations during this nationwide community-building event.
  • YMCA Summer Y Games - (August 14) A community event hosted by the Mid-Willamette Family YMCA featuring friendly competition, teamwork, and fun for participants and spectators alike.
  • Albany Scottish Festival(August 15-16) Celebrate Scottish culture with athletics, music, dancing, food, vendors, and demonstrations.
  • Northwest Art & Air Festival(August 28 - 30) Experience hot air balloons, live entertainment, art vendors, family activities, and more at one of Albany's signature summer events.
